Hogan & Nelson at Colonial Country Club

By: Mark Baron – On February 10, 1992, Ben and his lifelong friend Byron Nelson travelled to Colonial Country Club for a photo shoot. At the time, Byron was 80 and Ben was 79 years old. Hogan agreed to be photographed only if it could be arranged for it to be held at Colonial Country Club.

The men were photographed by David Woo, a two time Pulitzer Prize finalist working for the Dallas Morning News. The photo shoot lasted less than 10 minutes before they began to tire.

This was the last time the two were photographed together and Byron said that was the first time the two of them were photographed together since the 1940’s.
