Wanting to write Golf every day...

Golf History Today was started on February 8th, 2016 and has been an enriching experience whilst learning about a game I love.  For me the idea was simple, to create historical to the date anniversary posts about our favorite players and figures throughout history.  I wanted to see if I could come up with a website that could provide content every single day.   The best part of the looking high and low for golf articles & photographs are the people I've met along the way. That has led me to some pretty incredible discoveries and friendships.  Since the inception of the site I even took up caddying  and was fortunate to loop in the U.S. Senior Amateur in August of 2016.  I look forward to 2018, where I will be a volunteer at the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.  I wish to continue to stay around the game and write about the game for as long as I can.

I am usually up at night writing for the next day and some of my favorite moments have come from my own discovery.  Little known facts that are contrary to belief are always a delight to come across.  I was intrigued when I first read about Cyril Walker, a former U.S. Open Champion who was arrested on a course during a tournament for slow play.   Another example is when I found out that Ben Hogan later came out and said he actually hit a 2 iron at Merion instead of the believed 1 iron? ...The plaque reads wrong.  Little stuff like that I'd never would have stumbled upon if I weren't continuing this project.  It's a truly rewarding experience when you can gather information like this and present it to another golf lover.

My goal: To keep writing, learning, and meeting new people in the golf world...

The goal of golf history today is to reach as many golf fans and golf lovers alike.  Fans of golf history today span over the masses from young golf enthusiast, teachers, club pro's, club historians, former professionals and many more.  I want to continue to write everyday (If I can) and remind people of the goof ole days of golf.  I have gotten tremendous feedback and great support from fans and critics alike but its been an amazing process.  Thank you for your support.
