On March 11, 1957 Sports Illustrated released the first of a five part series written by Ben Hogan, co-authored with Herbert Warren Wind and illustrated by Anthony Ravielli, called the “Five Lessons – the Modern Fundamentals of Golf”. The subject of the first installment was The Grip. When released as a book it becomes the most widely read golf tutorial and the biggest selling instructional book (golf or otherwise) ever written. It is currently in its 64th printing and even today it continues to maintain a place at or near the top of the Amazon.com golf book sales rankings.
